Privacy Policy
Last updated September 10, 2026
This policy explains what SuchNumbers ("we", "us") collects when you use suchnumbers.com, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as the service needs.
1. What we collect
- E-mail address. Used to sign you in with a one-time code, to send order confirmations, porting details and deadline reminders, and to answer support requests.
- Name. The name you enter at checkout, exactly as you will give it to your new carrier. Carriers reject ports when names do not match.
- Orders. The numbers you bought, the amount paid, the order state, the porting deadline, and the port-out PIN we issue for each number.
- Searches. The area code and digit patterns you search for. For visitors who are not signed in we also keep a random guest identifier in a cookie and your IP address for the current day, only to count free searches.
- Technical logs. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) kept for security and debugging.
We do not collect or store card numbers. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's pages.
2. Cookies
The site sets two cookies of its own, both essential. wn_session keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; it is HTTP-only and cannot be read by scripts. wn_guest is a random identifier that counts free searches for visitors who are not signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or tracking pixels. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages under its own policy.
3. Why we use your data
To run the service you asked for: showing inventory, taking payment, acquiring and holding your number, issuing porting details, authorizing your carrier's port request, reminding you before the deadline and releasing unported numbers afterwards. To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, including rate limits on searches and sign-in codes. To meet legal, tax and telecom record-keeping obligations. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
4. Who receives it
- Telnyx, our carrier partner, receives the number and, when your carrier files a port request, the account details needed to approve it. Telnyx is the carrier of record while we hold the number.
- Stripe processes payments and receives your e-mail address and the order description. Stripe's handling of your card details is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Resend delivers our e-mail and receives your address and the message contents.
- Railway hosts the application and database in the United States.
- Our operators receive an internal notification when an order is placed, a port completes or a number is released. It contains the number and the buyer's e-mail address so we can act on problems quickly.
- Your new carrier receives nothing from us except the port authorization; you give them the porting details yourself.
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users, carriers or the public.
5. How long we keep it
Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and are stored only as a hash. Guest search counters reset daily. Order records, including the number and the porting details, are kept for as long as needed for tax and telecom record-keeping, normally seven years, because a ported number may be traced back to its original purchase. Your account and its orders can be deleted on request except where a record must be kept by law; in that case we keep only what is required.
6. Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted with TLS. Sessions are signed and HTTP-only. Sign-in codes are hashed before storage and rate limited. Access to the database is restricted to the application and to our operators. No method is perfect, so keep your e-mail account secure: it is the key to your orders and porting details.
7. Your rights
You can see your orders and porting details on the Account page at any time. You can ask us to correct, export or delete your data, or to stop non-essential e-mail, by writing to hello@suchnumbers.com from the address on your account. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right to know, delete and not be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there. If you are outside the United States, note that your data is processed in the United States.
8. Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top tells you when. Material changes will be posted on the site before they take effect.
